Blake Shelton Performs ‘Honey Bee’; Says Dia Frampton Is ‘Whippin’ Some A’ on ‘The Voice’

We’re down to the semi-finals of ‘The Voice,’ which makes life harder for comedic coach Blake Shelton, who said that the show is “the toughest and most exciting thing I’ve ever been a part of” in his long and successful music industry career.

Team member Dia Frampton owned ‘Losing My Religion’ by R.E.M., choosing that song since she relates to the lyrics; her dreamy voice gave the song an entirely new spin. Shelton noted, “You are whippin some A.’ I’m worried you’ll come out with a song and blow mine off the chart.”(christina aguilera, adam levine, miranda lambert, adam lambert, maroon 5 )

Other team member Xenia, whom Shelton elected to save last week, sang ‘The Man Who Can’t Be Moved’ by the Script, to which his fellow coaches called him a protective papa bear when it comes to her. Shelton said that he knows one day he’s going to be back in Oklahoma, driving his truck and he will hear Xenia’s voice on his radio and that he will be glad that he knew her way back when.

When country hopeful Casey Weston unleashed her vibrato on the Dolly Parton/Whitney Houston classic ‘I Will Always Love You,’ Shelton was impressed and he said he never expects to be blown away by her, yet he always is. He also wanted to know when her coach Adam Levine was going to talk about how hot Weston is. Oh, Blake.

Shelton also performed his No. 1 single ‘Honey Bee’ with special guests: Dia Frampton and Xenia, his two remaining team members. We thought Miranda Lambert might have dropped by for an impromptu performance, but ’twas not to be. Still, Shelton looks like a beaming proud papa when “his girls” sing; he looks even prouder when he sings with them.
